TASTY APERITIVO IN VICO EQUENSE
I love Naples but when it gets really hot, I like to leave the city for more open spaces, country side cities with sea and mountain views. And let’s say that in south Italy no need to drive hours to get to that kind of landscape. We went to Vico Equense for the day to enjoy the beautiful sea and Vesuvio view. Vico Equense is about 40 minutes drive from Napoli and as I said it’s a great place to escape on beautiful sunny days. After scrowling the city streets for hours, we were really in need for an Italian APERITIVO. For those who have no idea what an aperitivo is, it’s pretty much a pre-launch or diner drink with few bites to eat. Here in Naples it’s a very cultural thing to do and almost everyone stop by a bar for an aperitivo before enjoying a nice italian meal at home.
Aperitivo in Italy was one of the best thing I experienced.
Not that I am crazy about drinking alcohol before every meal but there is something about sitting in a bar before launch or diner, enjoying the sun, the amazing Italian language and very good looking and approcheable Italians ;), that makes me want to have one before every meal . One of the top aperitivo in Italy is Spritz, a mix of Aperol alcohol and Prosecco. And the best part : It is almost always served with small bites of delicious and typical Italian food.
So, we stopped at “La salumeria” restaurant for our Aperitivo. I, obviously went for L’amico Spritz, and was happy to see our drinks arrive with a nice plate of goodness ! Olives, Ham, Bacon, pesto tartine etc. I haven’t tried their meals, but everything looked very good. It’s also a great place to eat at night since they have some live music performance over some days.
